What year did you come from Bangladesh?

1990

Is your family here?

es my wife and two kids. One was born here and the other one in Bangladesh. First I came here then they came.

How long have you been driving a cab for?

From 1991 for 4-5 years, then I use to be an accountant and also working at the immigration services. Now I’m driving part time.

What shift do you usually do?

Night shift. 5 to 5 in the morning

What did you do before driving a cab?

Before driving a cab, first I worked at a McDonald’s and Wendy’s.

Your favorite spot to grab some food while working?

One of my friends told me lets give you a good sandwich at Punjabis Restaurant in 1994. So I came and saw it was good vegetarian food and met the nice owner, Mr. Johnny. I am very happy to come here.

Do you listen to music while you’re driving?

Not really, sometimes. Bangla and Hindi music.

What do you do on your days off?

I have a family, so I give my time to my family

The best thing about NY?

Different countries people come here, so we meet them, which is a great opportunity.

The worst thing about NY?

Traffic, and the population. And the highest worst thing was I was robbed. In the beginning of 1992. Some one showed me a gun in the Bronx and they took my money, but I was lucky that they didn’t shoot me.
